BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Chandler Cooke fired an even-par 72 in round one of the NCAA II Central/Midwest Regional Thursday at Katke Golf Club to lead University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Golf.
Cooke is tied for 12th after recording a team-high four birdies. Sam Sewell also tallied four birdies as he is tied for 29th with a 74 (+2). All five players birdied the par-5 ninth hole.
Alex Bloxham is tied for 43rd with a 75 (+3) while Braylon Mahanay is tied for 51st with a 76 (+4). Murphy Allard rounded out the UAFS lineup with an 81 (+9).
The Lions are tied for ninth after an opening round 297 (+9) and ranked tied for third in par-3 scoring. UAFS tees off round two at 2 p.m. Friday.
