FORT SMITH, Ark. – Men's golfer Sam Sewell has been named the Lion Pride Award winner for Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
The Student-Athlete of the Year award is given to a graduating student-athlete with at least a 3.0 GPA while excelling in the field of play.
Sewell earned All-MIAA honors and led the Lions with a 73.1 scoring average. He had four of the seven lowest rounds by a Lion this season with a low of 66 (-5) and 16 rounds of par or better.
Sewell posted three top fives and won the NSU Classic in the fall with a 202 (-11). He finished tied for second in the season opening The Mule with a 208 (-2) and tied for fifth at the Tulsa Cup with a 211 (-5).
He finished a fourth tournament under par with a 210 (-6) at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic and shot a 217 (+1) at the NCAA II Central/Midwest Regional.
Sam graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
