ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Golf is tied for eighth with a 317 (+29) after the opening round of the NCAA II Central Regional at St. Joseph Country Club.
Kaitlyn Canales and Catherine Haas-Black led the way for the Lions in the first 18 holes as each carded a 77 (+5) to tie for 14th. Haas-Black tallied the lone eagle of the entire round on the par-5 sixth hole.
Aliesa Situmorang carded a team-high three birdies and is tied for 45th with an 81 (+9). Paris Dufresne shot an 82 (+10) and is tied for 60th while Lauren Evans is tied for 66th with an 83 (+11).
The Lions had the second fewest bogeys of all teams and are two shots back of the cut line.
UAFS will tee off at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday in round two.
