WARRENSBURG, Mo. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Golf battled windy conditions all week to place fifth at the MIAA Championships at Mules National Golf Club.
The Lions finished just three shots behind host Central Missouri in fourth as they carded rounds of 313-310-309 to finish with a 932 (+93). UAFS was second in par-5 scoring and totaled 15 birdies and 136 pars.
Aliesa Situmorang led the charge for the Lions with a 228 (+18) to finish eighth, carding rounds of 74-77-77. She recorded four birdies and was tied for fifth with 33 pars.
Lauren Evans finished tied for 21st with a 234 (+24) with rounds of 79-77-78. She also had four birdies while tallying 26 pars.
Kaitlyn Canales tallied a 29th-place finish with a 236 (+26) while Ali Perry was one spot behind with a 239 (+29) in 30th. Canales shot rounds of 80-79-77 with Perry shooting 80-82-77. Canales was second on the team with 28 pars with Perry tying Evans with 26.
Catherine Haas-Black played round one carding an 83 while Paris Dufresne played rounds two and three with scores of 77-83.
UAFS was fourth in the latest NCAA II regional rankings with the selection show set for Sunday, April 26. The NCAA II Central Regional will be played May 4-6 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
