GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Sam Sewell and Braylon Mahanay each shot 210s (-6) to tie for 16th as University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Golf wrapped up its regular season at the RJGA Palm Calley Classic on Tuesday.
Sewell shot a 68 (-4) in the final round with six birdies and an eagle and led the Lions in birdies, par-4 and par-5 scoring. He totaled 14 birdies as he had scores of 70-72 in rounds one and two.
Mahanay carded rounds of 68-71-71 with five birdies in his opening round and 11 overall. He tallied a hole-in-one on the par-3 16th in round two. Mahanay tied for the tournament lead in par-3 scoring and had a team-high 36 pars.
Murphy Allard tied for 59th with a 217 (+1) as he carded rounds of 71-72-74. He totaled 12 birdies with four in each round and had the second most pars with 32.
Phisher Phillips and JD Frederiksen rounded out the lineup for the Lions, as Phillips finished 106th with a 238 (+22) with rounds of 85-78-75 and Frederikesen totaled a 239 (+23) to finish 107th with rounds of 86-75-78.
UAFS finished tied for 17th with an 872 (+8) with rounds of 294-290-288 and totaling 50 birdies for the event.
Next up for the Lions are the MIAA Championships April 13-15 in Jefferson City, Missouri.
