HUMBLE, Texas – Murphy Allard collected his first top 10 of the season as he tied for ninth to lead University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Golf at the Houston Classic.
Allard started the tournament with a first-round 69 (-3) with an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole. He then tallied a 73 in round two and a 74 in the final round to finish with an even-par 216. Allard led the Lions with nine birdies in the event.
Braylon Mahanay tied for 26th with a 223 (+7) as he carded rounds of 75-74-74. Mahanay tied with Sam Sewell for the team lead with 36 pars while finishing with six birdies.
Sewell and Chandler Cooke each tied for 33rd with a 224 (+8), with Sewell carding rounds of 79-69-76 and Cooke rounds of 74-73-77. Sewell had six of his seven bridies in round two while Cooke finished with six birdies.
Phisher Phillips rounded out the lineup with a 252 (+36) with rounds of 90-80-82.
The Lions finished seventh as a team with an 887 (+23), totaling 32 birdies and 167 pars. The Lions had rounds of 297-289-301.
