ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – JD Frederiksen recorded the first top 10 of his career Tuesday as he tied for eighth at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational at St. Joseph Country Club.
After rain shortened the event to 36 holes, Frederiksen turned in a score of 146 (+4), carding rounds of 74-72. His 72 (+1) in round two was the low round for the Lions. Frederiksen and Chandler Cooke each shot five-under on par-5s as both players recorded an eagle. Frederiksen finished with four birdies overall.
Sam Sewell rebounded from a first round 78 to card a 73 in round two to tie for 24th with a 151 (+9). He led the Lions with six birdies.
Braylon Mahanay tallied a team-high 26 pars as he tied for 27th with a 152 (+10). Mahanay carded identical rounds of 76.
Cooke and Alex Bloxham each tied for 35th with a 153 (+11), with Cooke carding rounds of 79-74 and Bloxham rounds of 78-75. Both finished with four birdies.
Preston Green rounded out the UAFS lineup with a 154 (+12) to tie for 39th. He also tallied four birdies as he finished with rounds of 77-77.
The Lions moved up two spots on the leaderboard in the final round, finishing with a 600 (+32) to tie for sixth. They shot a 305 in round one followed by a 295 in round two.
