STOCKTON, Calif. – Sidney Stramel concluded her collegiate career Wednesday by carding a 73 (+1) in the final round of the NCAA II Women's Golf West Regional at Brookside Golf Club.
Stramel finished the 54-hole event with a 222 (+6) to finish in a tie for 19th. She totaled 33 pars and nine birdies for the event.
She started the tournament with a first-round 75 (+3), carding three birdies in the round. She followed that up by starting four-under in round two with four birdies on the back nine before finishing with a 74 (+2). She tallied a pair of birdies in round three as she improved her score in each round.
Stramel ends her career as one of the top golfers to ever come through the UAFS women's golf program, holding the record for career scoring average, season scoring average, most par or better rounds, most birdies in a single season and career, low 36-hole total and the top three lowest 54-hole totals.
She totaled 17 career rounds of par or better, with a low round of a four-under 68, which she accomplished twice. She recorded 15 career top-10s and six top fives, with a career best finish of second at the 2022 LSC Championships in which she shot a seven-under 209.
Sidney helped lead the Lions to four team wins during her four seasons and was a member of the first two teams to qualify for the NCAA II West Regional in program history.
