BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Golf closed out its fall schedule with a fifth-place finish Tuesday at the Tulsa Cup as the Lions battled wet and rainy conditions.
The Lions finished with a 920 (+56) after rounds of 300-298-322 and recorded 23 birdies and 153 pars.
Lauren Evans bounced back from a first round 82 to card a pair of under-par rounds with a 70 and 71 as she finished tied for 11th with a 223 (+7). She had the lone eagle for the Lions in round two and finished with six birdies.
Catherine Haas-Black finished 30th with a 231 (+15) after rounds of 75-74-82. She led the Lions with seven birdies.
Kaitlyn Canales shot a career-best 70 in round one as she finished with a 235 (+19) to tie for 39th. She finished with four birdies and tied with Evans for a team-high 35 pars. Aliesa Situmorang tied for 43rd with a 236 (+20) with rounds of 76-77-83.
Ali Perry shot a 156 (+12) after two rounds before withdrawing.
The Lions return to action February 16-17 at the Southern Invite at Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas.
