DALLAS – Sydney Williams tied for 24th as University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Golf concluded play at the West Regional Preview Tuesday at the Golf Club of Dallas.
Williams carded a three-round total of 226 (+10), with rounds of 75, 78 and 73. Williams shot three-under on par-5s for the tournament and led UAFS with eight birdies. Williams also recorded an eagle in round one.
Marvelyn Kartika tied for 43rd while Sidney Stramel tied for 50th. Kartika bookended a second round 74 with 79s in rounds one and three with Stramel shooting rounds of 80, 76 and 79. Kartika finished with a 232 (+16) while Stramel shot a 235 (+19). Kartika had a team-high 34 pars as Stramel finished with six birdies.
Simone Campise and Maisie Liddell rounded out the lineup for UAFS by shooting a 239 (+23) and 244 (+28), respectively. Campise tied for 67th and Liddell tied for 76th. Campise was second on the team with seven birdies.
Maddie Sanders and Jenna Triplett got their first collegiate golf action by playing as individuals. Sanders shot 252 (+36) and Triplett shot 261 (+45).
UAFS finished 14th in the tournament with a 930 (+66). It's three rounds consisted of scores of 308, 306 and 316.
The Lions wrap up the fall portion of their schedule October 17-18 at the Nick Turner Fall Invite at Arroyo Del Oso Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
