FORT SMITH, Ark. – Men's cross country runner Evan Smith and volleyball middle blocker Aspen Olson have been selected as this week's UAFS Athletes of the Week.
Smith ran the second fastest time in the 8k in program history and is just 11 seconds off the record as he led the Lion men with a 19th-place finish in 25:05.6. at the Missouri Southern Stampede Saturday. UAFS placed 10th of 28 teams at the meet.
Olson hit .471 with nine kills and five blocks as the Lions earned their first MIAA win with a sweep over Missouri Southern on Saturday. For the weekend, Olson hit .324 with 12 kills and 11 blocks, good for 1.83 blocks per set.
