FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Cross Country takes to the course for the first time in 2026 as the Lions are set to race in the RSU Distance After Dark at 10 p.m. Thursday in at the Mohawk Sports Complex Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This is the third straight season the Lions will open in Tulsa and fifth straight year they will run after the sun goes down. It will be the first of four regular season races for the Lions this season prior to the MIAA Championships.

The Lion women were picked ninth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll with four returners and six newcomers. Annabella Tedder and Michaela Kaelin are the top returners from last season looking to lead the Lions this fall.
UAFS was picked 12th in the men's preseason poll and features seven returners and three newcomers. Evan Smith returns after leading the Lions in three events a season ago while Troy Ferguson and Angel Cordero also return after leading the Lions in a race last year.
