FORT SMITH, Ark. – Men's cross country runner Evan Smith has been selected as the Lion Pride Award winner for Male Freshman of the Year.
Smith scored in all six events for the Lions and was the top finisher three times. He posted a 68th-place finish in his collegiate debut at the RSU Distance After Dark and then led the Lions at the Missouri Southern Stampede placing 88th with a personal best time of 26:35.1.
Smith then paced the Lions at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational and again at the MIAA Championships. He was the second Lion to finish at the NCAA II Central Regional with a 10k time of 34:56.6.
