FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball heads back on the road as the Lions begin a four-game road trip this week by visiting Washburn and Central Missouri.
UAFS will take on the Ichabods at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and then visit the Jennies at 3 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions defeated Nebraska-Kearney by 18 before taking No. 8 Fort Hays State down to the wire in a 73-68 setback.
9: UAFS made nine threes in both games last week, tying for the third most in a game this season.
16: Forward Marie Rose Priscilla Wemba pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds in the win over Nebraska-Kearney.
AROUND THE LEAGUE: Wemba ranks 11th in the MIAA with 7.0 rebounds per game while forward Layne Kirkendoll is seventh with 1.1 blocks per game. Guard Telisha Brown is 10th with 2.8 assists per contest.
SCOUTING WU: The Ichabods are 15-7, 8-5 MIAA and are 8-1 at home this season while leading the league in scoring defense at 56.9 points per game. Forward Yiibari Nwidadah leads the Ichabods with 12.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING UCM: The Jennies are 17-5, 11-2 MIAA and are on a five-game winning streak. UCM has the second-best field goal percentage in the league at 43.9 percent, led by guard Reese Schaaf at 19.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-0 all-time against Washburn and 2-2 versus Central Missouri. This will be the Lions' first ever trip to Washburn.
