FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball had three score in double figures but Central Oklahoma pulled away late, as the Lions fell to the Bronchos, 70-58, Thursday at the Stubblefield Center.
Guard Haleigh Jackson led the Lions with 14 points while forward Marie Rose Priscilla Wemba added 12 points and eight rebounds. Guard Keytonna Ross was the third Lion in double figures with 10 points.
The Lions were within 60-55 with 3:53 left but the Bronchos went on a 10-1 run over the final three minutes to pull away.
The lead traded hands twice in the first 10 minutes before the Lions found themselves playing from behind. UAFS pulled within a single possession multiple times but was never able to regain the lead.
Guard Telisha Brown added nine points off the bench while guard Jah'Mareah Linville and forward Layne Kirkendoll had nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
UCO had a 16-4 edge in points off turnovers and a 14-5 advantage in second chance points.
UAFS wraps up its season Saturday at 1 p.m. against Rogers State at the Stubblefield Center.
