FORT SMITH, Ark. – Guard Telisha Brown made sure to end her career on a high note, as the senior scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Lions to a 72-61 victory over Rogers State Saturday in the regular season finale at the Stubblefield Center.
The Lions only allowed two points in the overtime period, outscoring the Hillcats, 13-2. Brown had a personal 6-0 run in the frame as the Lions scored the final nine points over 3:45.
UAFS trailed by three entering the fourth quarter before taking a 53-51 lead on a 6-0 run. After the lead swapped twice, UAFS took a 59-56 lead with 34 seconds left but the Hillcats tied the game on a three with 25 seconds remaining.
The Lions overcame an 11-point first half deficit in the comeback win.
Brown also added five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. She led four in double figures, as guard Keytonna Ross tallied 13 points, nine boards and four assists while guard Senese Rainey tallied 12 points with three triples. Guard D'Ajha Horton was the fourth with 10 points.
Forward Marie Rose Priscilla Wemba also had nine boards as the Lions had the edge on the glass and second chance points.
