KANSAS CITY – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its Men's and Women's Golf preseason coaches' polls Monday, with University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in the top five of both polls.
UAFS women's golf was picked second with 120 points, behind defending MIAA champion Central Missouri, which received 143 points and 11 first-place votes. After placing third at the 2025 MIAA championship, the Lions went on to earn a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional Championship and advanced to the Division II National Championship for the first time in program history.
Nebraska-Kearney (108 pts), Northwest Missouri State (104 pts) and Rogers State (100 pts) rounded out the top five.
UAFS also received four votes in last week's WGCA Coaches Preseason Top 25.
In the men's poll, the Lions were tabbed fourth with 66 points, following Central Oklahoma (99 pts), Central Missouri (90 pts) and Washburn (75 pts). Fort Hays State completed the top five with 55 points.
UAFS finished third at the MIAA Championships before earning an at-large bid to the NCAA postseason.
