FORT SMITH, Ark. – The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith golf programs will get their fall seasons underway Monday, the first of five events for each team this fall.
The women start the year with the NSU Invitational September 8-9 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before visiting Minnesota for the Jewel Invitational Sept. 22-23.
October sees the Lions play three consecutive weeks starting with the Midwest Classic Oct. 13-14 in Warrensburg, Missouri, followed by the Central Regional Preview Oct. 20-21 in St. Joseph, Missouri. They wrap up the fall schedule with the Tulsa Cup Oct. 27-28.
UAFS returns five golfers from its NCAA Championship appearing team, led by defending NCAA II Central Regional champion Ali Perry. The Lions added two freshmen and a transfer in Catherine Haas-Black to the roster for this season.
The men will look to replace MIAA champion Jeremy Tandoy with former regional qualifier Chandler Cooke leading the way. The Lions added three transfers and a freshman to a roster that is 11 players deep.
UAFS begins its season with The Mule in Warrensburg Sept. 8-9 and before the NSU Invitational Sept. 15-16 in Tulsa. The Lions start October in St. Joseph Oct. 6-7, followed by the MSSU Fall Invitational Oct. 20-21 in Monkey Island, Oklahoma. The men then join the women at the Tulsa Cup Oct. 27-28.
