BOULDER CITY, Nev. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Golf wrapped up the first round of the NCAA II Championships in 15th Tuesday at the par-72 Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The Lions carded a 302 (+14) with seven birdies and 53 pars.
Lauren Evans paced the Lions in the opening round with an even par 72, recording an eagle on the second hole and adding a pair of birdies on the back nine. Evans is tied for 29th.
Aliesa Situmorang birdied the par-4 18th hole to finish the round tied for 59th with a 75 (+3) while Ali Perry tallied a 77 (+5).
Kenley McElyea carded a 78 (+6) with a pair of birdies while Kaitlyn Canales rounded out the lineup with an 83 (+11).
UAFS will look to move up the leaderboard in round two Wednesday, teeing off at 11:10 a.m. central time.
