FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Tennis closed out its home slate Friday with a 5-2 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State for its first MIAA/GAC win of the year.
The Lions made quick work in doubles action, as Rodrigo Hoppe and Kevin Praphan started the day with a 6-1 win at No. 3. Killian Darneaux and Juan Rosello followed that up with a 6-2 win at No. 2 while Anis Ramchane and Eduardo Bribiesca finished with an emphatic 6-3 win at No. 1.
Bribiesca once again breezed through his match at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0 with Hoppe the scoring the Lions' third point with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4.
Rosello clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 while Ramchane scored the final tally with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 come-from-behind win at No. 3.
Women's tennis suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Savage Storm in nonconference action, with Taylor Conway leading 6-2, 3-0 at No. 2 singles before winning by retirement.
The women are back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. for their home finale before both teams wrap up the regular season on the road next weekend.
