ROGERS, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Golf wrapped up the weather-shortened Shadow Valley Invitational Tuesday with an 11th-place finish at Shadow Valley Country Club.
The Lions carded rounds of 319 and 310 to finish with a 629 (+53) and led the tournament with three eagles. The Lions collected 23 birdies as a team as they battled windy conditions.
Judd Hays was the top finishing Lion playing as an individual, tallying a two-round total of 152 (+8) to tie for 13th. He recorded five birdies en route to a first round 72 before concluding with a second round 80. His seven total birdies ranked tied for fifth most in the event.
Preston Green tied for 29th with a 156 (+12) as he carded rounds of 77-79 with six birdies. Chandler Cooke recorded a pair of eagles, as he shot five-under on par-5s to tie for 38th with a 157 (+13). Cooke also tallied six birdies.
Rounding out the five-man lineup for the Lions were Alex Bloxham and Christopher Taylor tying for 53rd with 160s (+16), while Jeremy Tandoy tied for 71st with a 165 (+21).
Case Englehart, JD Frederiksen and Stevens Hunter all competed as individuals. Englehart tied for 59th with a 161 (+17), Frederiksen tied for 76th with a 167 (+23) and Hunter placed 93rd with a 181 (+37).
The Lions next compete at the Tiger Classic March 31-April 1 at Smoky Hill Golf Club in Hays, Kansas.
