PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Golf set a record for a low round with a 273 in the final round of the Spring Bulldog Clash Tuesday as the Lions earned a second-place finish.
The Lions tallied 25 birdies in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 826 (-14), just one stroke off the lead. UAFS carded rounds of 278-275-273 and finished with two eagles, 48 birdies and the second most pars with 173.
The 553 after two rounds and 826 are also 36 and 54-hole records for low score.
Jeremy Tandoy led the charge for the Lions, placing second with a 199 (-11). In the process, Tandoy tied the record for low round with a 65, and bested the 36 and 54-hole low round records. His 11-under is also a record relative to par, besting the seven-under by Chandler Cooke and Chris Eckes.
Tandoy had rounds of 65-66-70 and was five-under on par-3s and six-under on par-5s. He tallied the second most birdies among all players with 15 and also recorded an eagle.
Cooke tied for 23rd with an even-par 210, shooting an even 70 in all three rounds. He finished with 10 total birdies.
Preston Green tied for 29th with a 211 (+1), recording back-to-back 68s (-2) in the first two rounds before wrapping up with a 75. He had four birdies each in his first two rounds and added an eagle in round two, as well.
Alex Bloxham moved up 33 spots on the leaderboard in the final round, starting his day with eight birdies in his first 14 holes. He finished the round with a 66 (-4), closing out the tournament with rounds of 76-72-66 to tied for 44th with a 214 (+4).
Christopher Taylor tied for 48th with rounds of 75-71-69 for a 215 (+5), recording four of his six birdies in the final round. Stevens Hunter played as an individual, tying for 87th with a 229 (+19). Hunter tallied eight birdies over the three rounds.
UAFS next hosts the Shadow Valley Invitational March 3-4 at Shadow Valley Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas.
