FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball Head Coach Ryan McAdams has announced that guard Allana Thompson has committed to play for the Lions for the 2023-24 season.
Thompson, a 6'0" guard from Houston, Texas, comes to UAFS after two seasons at Blinn College and one at Prairie View A&M.
"We are thrilled to have Allana joining us!" McAdams exclaimed. "She brings length at the four position and her aggressiveness fits our program. She is a proven winner who has played in a tough junior college region and in some very big games. Her character and understanding of how to contribute to her team's success are two attributes that will push us forward."
Thompson started all 35 games for the nationally ranked Buccaneers this past season, averaging 4.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. She scored a season-high 14 points in a win against Paris Junior College. As a redshirt freshman in 2021-22, Thompson averaged 6.8 points, 4.7 points and 2.1 assists per game with a season-high 17 points against Coastal Bend College.
