DALLAS – Jaden Chavez shot one-under 69 as University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Golf teed off the 2022 season at the DBU Invitational at the Golf Club of Dallas Tuesday.
Chavez finished in a six-way tie for second after play was suspended due to lightning. With the second round unable to be completed, scores reverted to the end of the first round. Prior to that, Chavez had been the leader in the clubhouse at four under. He had eight birdies before play was halted.
Alexander Apolskis tied for eighth with an even-par 70, while Preston Green and Case Englehart each tied for 29th with 75s. Apolskis had three birdies in his round.
Jeremy Tandoy tied for 32nd carding a 76 with Lucky Boonsrirat, Andrew Fakult and Conner Guthrie tying for 36th with 77s.
With no team scores, all nine team members competed in the event, as Michael Strout placed 49th to round out the UAFS contingent.
