SANTA ROSA, Calif. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Golf wrapped up the West Regional Preview Tuesday, finishing 10th at the par 72, 6,851-yard Foxtail Golf Club.
The Lions shot 300 in round one and finished rounds two and three with identical 293s for a total of 886 (+22). UAFS totaled 37 birdies and led the tournament with 169 pars.
Jeremy Tandoy was the highest finisher for the Lions, tying for 35th with a 221 (+5). After a first round 78, Tandoy rebounded with a one-under 71 in round two and finished up with an even-par 72 in round three. Tandoy tied Andrew Fakult for the most birdies with 10 and had the lone eagle for the Lions.
Fakult finished in a tie for 38th with a 222 (+6) carding rounds of even-par 72, 77 and a one-over 73. Fakult shot five-under on par 5s for the tournament.
Preston Green and Alexander Apolskis each tied for 42nd with a 223 (+7). Green played similar to Tandoy, scoring a 72 and 73 in rounds two and three after a 78 in round one. Apolskis carded a 72 in round one followed by scores of 76 and 75.
Jaden Chavez rounded out the lineup for the Lions, tying for 54th with a 227 (+11). He also carded a round one 78 before shooting a 74 and 75 in rounds two and three, respectively. Chavez led the Lions with 40 pars.
