PUEBLO, Colo. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith men's golfers Darryl Fulgham-Weyel and Jaden Chavez each tied for 31st to pace UAFS Men's Golf at the Southern Colorado Masters Monday and Tuesday at Walking Stick Golf Course.
Weyel had his best round in round two, shooting a one-under 71 with three birdies. He shot 79 in round one and 80 in round three to finish with a total of 230 (+14). Weyel led the Lions on par-4s and tied with Hayden Brogdon for a team-high 33 pars.
Chavez totaled 230 (+14) with rounds of 75, 78 and 77. He led the Lions with eight birdies and shot five under on par-5s.
Jeremy Tandoy registered a finish of tied for 35th just a stroke back with a 231 (+15). He shot rounds of 75, 76 and 80 and had the top scoring average for the Lions on par-3s. He totaled seven birdies over the three rounds.
Brogdon and Case Englehart each tied for 54th with 237s (+21). Englehart had rounds of 75, 82 and 80, while Brogdon sandwiched an even-par 72 in round two with scores of 80 and 85. Brogdon posted three birdies and no bogeys on the back nine in round two.
As a team, the Lions finished eighth with a 918 (+54). They carded rounds of 304, 297 and 317.
Postseason play is up next for the Lions with the Lone Star Conference Championships April 18-20 at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose, Texas.
