Volleyball releases 2021 schedule

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball has announced its 2021 schedule, with the Lady Lions set to play 28 matches this fall.

UAFS will open the season with a pair of tournaments beginning September 3 before starting Lone Star Conference play September 17.

The first tournament on the schedule is the Lady Buff Volleyball Classic, which will see the Lady Lions face Fort Lewis College, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Adams State University and host West Texas A&M University September 3-4.

Following the opening weekend, UAFS will head east to Valdosta, Georgia, for the Valdosta State Fall Tournament. There, UAFS will take on Albany State University, Valdosta State University, Saint Leo University and Eckerd College.

From there, UAFS travels to Lubbock Christian September 17 for its Lone Star Conference opener. A trip to defending LSC champion Angelo State occurs the next day.

Alternating weekly home and away conference weekends has the Lady Lions hosting their home opener September 24 against Dallas Baptist at the Stubblefield Center. Texas Woman's University will be the home matchup September 25.

The remaining home schedule features matches against Western New Mexico University, University of Texas Permian Basin, St. Mary's University, St. Edward's University, Texas A&M International University and Texas A&M-Kingsville University. The matches against TAMIU and TAMUK will be the final matches of the regular season November 12-13.

Road matches also include trips to Texas A&M-Commerce University, University of Texas at Tyler, Eastern New Mexico University, West Texas A&M University, Oklahoma Christian University, Cameron University and Midwestern State University.

Added in amongst the conference schedule are a nonconference matchup at Oklahoma Baptist University October 5 and the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff tri-match October 26. At the tri-match, UAFS will face the NCAA I Golden Lions and University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Lone Star Conference Tournament play is scheduled for November 16-20 with the NCAA South Central regional November 30 to December 4.
