FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball continues its intra-divisional stretch of games this week with a pair of contests against Cameron University.
The Lions will travel to Cameron for a 7 p.m. tipoff Thursday, before welcoming the Aggies to the Stubblefield Center Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. start.
Cameron is allowing pass list only entry for the game in Lawton, while general admission tickets are on sale now for Saturday's contest at the Stubblefield Center. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network and can be accessed with a daily pass for $10. Live stats will be available on uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES
LAST WEEK: UAFS split its weekend series with Texas A&M-Commerce. The Lions won at the Stubblefield Center, 72-67, before falling at Commerce, 77-61.
HOME OPENER: The Lions won their sixth consecutive home opener Friday evening, dating back to the 2015-16 season.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Senior forward Chris Rollins now has three double-doubles on the season, after collecting a 13 points and 10 boards in the win last week against A&M-Commerce, as well as 19 points and 10 boards in the loss.
AMONG THE LSC: Senior forward Chris Rollins leads the Lone Star Conference in field goal percentage, as he is shooting 65.0 percent from the floor. He is second in rebounding at 8.8 per game and eighth in scoring with 18.5 points per game. Senior guard Matthew Wilson is 14th in scoring at 15.3 points and 11th in assists at 3.5.
22: Rollins has scored exactly 22 points in three of the five games this season.
WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?: Freshman guard Payton Brown has increased his scoring in each of the four games he has played. After scoring six points in his debut, the freshman has scored 14, 15 and 21 points.
16: The Lions dished out a season-best 16 assists in the win over Commerce. UAFS assisted on 16-of-23 made baskets, including 11-of-13 in the first half. Senior Matthew Wilson had a team-high 8 assists.
RECORD WATCH: Senior guard Matthew Wilson moved into 6th on the all-time list for three pointers made, as he how has 91 career makes at UAFS.
SCOUTING CAMERON: The Aggies have started the season just 1-7, 1-7 LSC, picking up their first win of the season January 7 at Oklahoma Christian after starting the year 0-6. Junior guard Brock Schreiner is pacing the Aggies with 20.4 points per game, with a season high of 31 points twice. Junior forward Kendal Scott is the man in the middle for Cameron, averaging 11.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES: Cameron has won three of the four all-time meetings between the two schools, including both games last season. The teams split in 2018, where the Lions won the first ever matchup, 83-75.
