FORT SMITH, Ark. – Men's basketball guard Christian Moore has been selected as the winner of a pair of UAFS Lion Pride Awards, taking home both Male Newcomer of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year.
Moore started all 29 games for the Lions this season and led the team with 138 assists for an average of 4.8 per game. He was second on the team in scoring at 12.4 points per game while shooting 40.2 percent from beyond the arc.
Moore scored in double figures 19 times and had five 20-point games, securing double -doubles in back-to-back wins over Newman and Emporia State. He had at least five assists in 15 games and 14 games with multiple steals. He ranked third in the MIAA with a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.
Moore was named the MIAA Athlete of the Week after the Lions earned road wins at Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State.
He led the Lions to their first 20-win season since 2017-18, a 13-0 start and No. 5 national ranking before concluding the season with 18 points, six rebounds, seven assists and five steals in the MIAA quarterfinals.
