FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball is once again at Crowder Field this weekend as the Lions host Northwest Missouri State for a three-game series.
With the Easter holiday, game one of the series is set for Thursday at 1 p.m. followed by game two at 1 p.m. Friday. The series concludes at 1 p.m. Saturday.
All three games will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions were swept at home against Missouri Southern and dropped a midweek contest at Northeastern State.
STOLEN GOODS: UAFS ranks fourth in the MIAA with 59 stolen bases. Connor Earleywine leads the Lions with 12 steals.
GOODBYE BASEBALL: Outfielder JJ Young has hit five of his seven home runs on the season in the last six games.
ON THE MOUND: Reliever Spencer Bass has allowed just one hit and one unearned run over his last 4.1 innings on the mound.
SCOUTING NW: The Bearcats are 23-9, 13-5 MIAA after having won their last four games. Northwest leads the MIAA with 78 batters hit by pitches and is led at the plate by infielder Jeremiah Cabuyaban with a .394 average with 12 homers and 35 RBIs.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 6-4 all-time against the Bearcats. The Lions had won six in a row before Northwest won all three games last season.
