FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball will play its first road MIAA series of the season as the Lions visit Fort Hays State this weekend for three games.
Game one of the series gets underway at 3 p.m. Friday from Larks Park followed by a 2 p.m. first pitch Saturday and the finale at 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS was swept at home in MIAA action by No. 2/7 Pittsburg State.
GIMME THAT: Outfielder Connor Earleywine ranks ninth in the MIAA with eight stolen bases. He is 8-for-8 on the year.
AT THE PLATE: Outfielder CJ Snowden is batting .413 with three homers and 11 RBIs this season. His average ranks 10th in the MIAA.
ON THE MOUND: Righty Steffan Fak leads the Lions with 16.1 innings pitched and 13 strikeouts.
SCOUTING FHSU: The Tigers are 4-13, 1-6 MIAA and have lost their last five games. Fort Hays is fifth in the league with a .291 batting average, led by infielder Derek Woolwine with a .389 average, six homers and 19 RBIs.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-7 all-time against Fort Hays State after the Tigers swept the series at Crowder Field in 2025.
