FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith will conclude its third straight weekend on the road this week as the Lions are set to visit No. 8 Central Missouri for a three-game MIAA series.
The series is set to begin at 3 p.m. Friday followed by a 2 p.m. start Saturday with the series wrapping up at 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS swept Newman on the road before dropping a midweek contest at home to Northeastern State.
LEADING OFF: Utility Connor Earleywine went 7-for-10 with seven walks, two doubles, a triple, 10 runs scored, four RBIs and three steals from the leadoff spot in the series against Newman.
RUN PRODUCER: Infielder Caleb Eisenhower drove in 11 runs in the sweep over Newman, recording four RBIs in each of the first two games and three in the series finale.
COMPLETE GAME: Right-hander Jett Frazier tossed a complete game in the game two win over Newman, allowing just one run on four hits over seven innings.
SCOUTING UCM: The Mules are 19-5, 10-3 MIAA and 9-1 at home. UCM is second in the MIAA with a .345 batting average and lead the league with 224 strikeouts on the mound. Infielder Chase Wilcox leads UCM with a .419 average with two homers and 20 RBIs while Greyson Chappel has a 2.45 ERA in 18.1 innings with 28 strikeouts.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-4 all-time against Central Missouri.
