FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball has announced the hiring of Hunter Wilson as Assistant Baseball Coach.
Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Lions, having played collegiately at the highest level.
He was an All-State selection at Spiro High School before playing at Stephen F. Austin and Eastern Oklahoma State. At EOSC, Wilson batted .361 with nine home runs and 39 RBIs and scored 61 runs, leading EOSC to the NJCAA Region II Baseball Championship.
That earned Wison a spot on the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he appeared in 44 games over two seasons. He hit .310 in limited action in 2017 before batting .283 with a home run and 12 RBIs in 2018, playing a role in the Razorbacks' run to the College World Series finals.
Wilson closed his college career at Oral Roberts, where he hit .301 with two homers, 33 RBIs and scored 42 runs, ranking among the league leaders in batting average, hits runs and stolen bases. He earned All-Summit League First Team for his efforts.
Wilson uses the lessons and experiences from his playing career to develop student-athletes with an emphasis on preparation, consistency, and baseball IQ. His background at elite Division I programs gives him a unique perspective on player development and competitiveness, helping him mentor athletes both on and off the field.
