Baseball continues road start at William Jewell

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball will be on the road once again this weekend as the Lions visit William Jewell College for a three-game series.

First pitch of the series is set for Friday at 3 p.m. followed by 1 p.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday. All three games will be streamed on the GLVC Sports Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: The Lions went 0-4 at the Henderson State Invitational before dropping a midweek contest at Oklahoma Baptist.

AT THE PLATE: Outfielder CJ Snowden leads the Lions with a pair of homers and a .471 batting average while infielders Quinton Borders and Layne Sweat each lead the Lions with five RBIs.

ON THE MOUND: Right-hander Aden Almeida threw five scoreless innings in the season opener allowing just three hits while striking out five.

SCOUTING WJC: This weekend will serve as the season opener for the Cardinals. William Jewell went 22-28 a year ago. Infielder Justin George returns as the top hitter after batting .352 with eight homers and 46 RBIs in 2025.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-1 all-time against William Jewell. This will be the Lions' first trip to Liberty, Missouri.
