FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball will wrap up the final weekend of four straight weekends at home as the Lions are set to welcome No. 4 Central Missouri to Crowder Field.
First pitch of the series between the Lions and Mules is set for 2 p.m. Friday followed by 1 p.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday.
All three games will be streamed on the MIAA Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions won the series over Newman at Crowder Field, taking two of three games.
LEAGUE LEADER: Outfielder Cooper White currently leads the MIAA in batting average (.456) and doubles (11). He hit six doubles last week against Newman.
STREAKING: White currently has a 12-game hitting streak and 15-game reached base streak. Infielder Nico Patrick has tallied a hit in eight straight games while four Lions have reached base safely in eight or more consecutive games.
FAST START: The Lions have outscored their opponents in each of the first five innings this season.
ON THE MOUND: Brayden Ross ranks fourth in the MIAA with 31 strikeouts while Grant Shankle is second in innings pitched with 31.1.
SCOUTING UCM: The Mules are 11-3, 5-1 MIAA and No. 4 in the latest Top 25 polls. The Mules are hitting .310 as a team with a 4.46 team ERA. Catcher Chase Heath leads UCM with a .407 average with a homer and 15 RBIs. On the mound, starter Nathan Hall is 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA and 19 strikeouts.
THE SERIES: The series is tied, 1-1, with both matchups taking place at the Houston Winter Invitational at Minute Maid Park.
