FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball will wrap up the home portion of its 2025 schedule this weekend as the Lions host Newman and Pittsburg State.

Friday's match will serve as Military Appreciation Night, with UAFS honoring U.S. military veterans and active-duty service members. A short presentation will take place prior to the 6 p.m. first serve against the Jets.

Saturday's match versus Pitt State will start at 1 p.m. with a Senior Day ceremony prior to the match.

Both matches will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com. Friday's match will be broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5 while Saturday's will be on KOOL 104.7.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS suffered defeats on the road in MIAA contests at Missouri Southern and Central Missouri.

BLOCK PARTY: Saturday's matchup will feature two of the top three blocking teams in the MIAA, as Pitt State leads the league with 3.06 per set while UAFS is third with 2.51 per set. PSU's Anna Dean leads the MIAA with 1.48 blocks per set with UAFS's Crystal Smith second at 1.35 per set.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Middle Aspen Olson ranks sixth in the MIAA with a .326 attack percentage while setter Scarlette Young is third with 0.42 aces per set.

RECORD WATCH: Young ranks seventh with 75 career aces while Smith's 126 total blocks are the seventh most in a season.

SCOUTING NU: The Jets are 2-21, 0-12 MIAA and rank near the bottom in multiple league categories. Outside hitter Sky Miller leads the Newman attack with 2.81 kills per set.

SCOUTING PSU: The Gorillas are 11-12, 4-8 MIAA with a 2-4 record away from home. Pitt State features two of the top three blockers in the MIAA.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 23-2 all-time versus Newman and 1-4 against Pittsburg State.
