FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball looks to carry over last week's series win to Crowder Field this weekend as the Lions host Cameron University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in the penultimate home series of the season.
The series gets started Friday at 1 p.m. with the Teal Tailgate scheduled to get underway at noon. Saturday features a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. with the series wrapping up with a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.
Friday's game is also a Raising Cane's Challenge game, where fans will receive a buy one, get one free combo meal voucher if the Lions score more than five runs.
All four games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS won the series at Eastern New Mexico, winning the first three games before falling in the finales.
52: The 52 combined runs in Sunday's finale mark the sixth most runs in a game in NCAA II history. The 24 runs by the Lions were the third most runs scored in a loss.
AT THE PLATE: UAFS has four players with more than 30 runs driven in this season after only having one player do so last season.
ON THE MOUND: Right-hander Brayden Ross ranks second in the LSC with a 3.51 ERA while posting a 5-3 record and 35 strikeouts. Lefty Grant Shankle is fourth in the league with a 3.98 ERA and a 3-2 record.
SCOUTING CU: The Aggies are 10-27, 9-27 LSC after a split last week at home against UT Tyler. Cameron is second to last in the LSC in both batting average and ERA. Infielder Jayce Clem tops the lineup with a .355 batting average while infielder Beau Williams has a team-high eight homers and 46 RBIs. Drew Henderson has posted six wins on the mound for the Aggies with a 6.04 ERA in 56.2 innings.
THE SERIES: The series between the Lions and Aggies is tied at 8-8, with the teams splitting last year's series, as well.
