FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball heads back on the road this week as the Lions are set to visit St. Mary's and St. Edward's to continue Lone Star Conference action.
UAFS will take on the Rattlers at 5:30 p.m. Thursday followed by a meeting with the Hilltoppers at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions split a pair of home contests, defeating Texas A&M-Kingsville before falling to No. 21 Texas A&M International.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Forward Kayla Brundidge recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Texas A&M International. She also scored the game-winning basket against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
PERFECTION: Guard Morgan Browning was 6-for-6 from the field and 3-for-3 at the line against TAMIU for 17 points. She was 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.
FROM DISTANCE: Guard Hannah Boyett ranks fifth in the LSC with 1.9 made threes per game. UAFS is fourth in the league with 6.3 makes per game.
GIVE ME THAT: UAFS is second in the LSC in conference only games with 10.4 steals per game.
RECORD WATCH: Boyett sits at 869 career points in her chase to 1,000. Forward Kayla Brundidge is eighth with 47 blocks and guard Riley Hayes is fourth with 105 made threes.
SCOUTING STMU: The Rattlers have lost seven in a row and are 2-12, 2-6 LSC on the season. The Rattlers are 15th in the league in scoring at 58.4 points per game, shooting at just a 37.0 percent clip. Forward Taylor Haggan is the only Rattler averaging double figures at 14.9 points per game while also leading STMU in rebounding with 7.1 per game.
SCOUTING SEU: The Hilltoppers are 5-9, 2-5 LSC following a four-game losing streak, but four of their five wins have come at home. Guard Janiah Perkins leads three Hilltoppers averaging double figures with 13.8 points per game.
THE SERIES: UAFS holds winning records against both opponents, as it is 14-12 all-time versus St. Mary's and 16-13 against St. Edward's.
