FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball heads to West Texas A&M this weekend to take on the Buffaloes for a four-game Lone Star Conference series.
First pitch for the series opener is set for 7 p.m. Friday followed by a doubleheader Saturday starting at 3 p.m. The series then concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.

NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS was swept in a home conference series against St. Edward's.
STREAKING: Outfielder Brandon Ulmer heads into the weekend on a six-game hitting streak. He has had at least two hits in four of those games.
AT THE PLATE: Infielder Matt Schilling leads the Lions with a .280 batting average and has 12 doubles, which ranks third in the LSC. He is tied with outfielder Michael Brinton with five homers, while Brinton has a team-high 22 RBIs.
ON THE MOUND: Right-hander Brayden Johnson is third in the LSC with a 2.47 ERA and fifth with 56 strikeouts. Lukas Petross is right behind Johnson with a 2.49 ERA in 25.1 innings.
SCOUTING WT: The Buffs were swept at UT Tyler last weekend and enter the series with a 19-11, 17-11 LSC record. Infielder Adam Becker leads the LSC with 12 homers and 48 RBIs and ranks third with a .444 average. On the mound, Nick Marshall is 5-1 for the Buffs with a 2.98 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 45.1 innings.
THE SERIES: The Buffs lead the series, 9-5, after having won eight of the last nine meetings.
