Men's Basketball back at home versus TAMUK, TAMIU

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball is set to welcome Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International to Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center this week as the Lions return from a four-game road trip.

Tipoff for Saturday's contest versus TAMUK is set for 3 p.m. while Monday's rescheduled game against TAMIU is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafslions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS split its road games last week, defeating UT Tyler before falling in a defensive battle at Dallas Baptist.

AROUND THE LEAGUE: Guard Payton Brown is second in the LSC in scoring at 19.7 points per game and in made threes per game at 2.7. Guard Evan Anderson is eighth in assists with 3.5 per game and is third with a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.

600: Head coach Jim Boone is one win away from 600 career wins in his 37-year career.

RECORD WATCH: Anderson is second all-time with 302 career assists, 10th in steals with 70 and seventh with 130 made threes. Brown is eighth with 95 made threes.

THE SERIES: UAFS trails the series against Texas A&M-Kingsville, 4-1, while leading the series with Texas A&M International, 15-10.

SCOUTING TAMUK: The Javelinas are 15-8, 9-6 LSC but have lost three of their last four games. TAMUK leads the LSC in offensive rebounds with 12.7 per game. Leading scorer, guard CJ Smith, averages 12.1 points per game for the Javelinas.

SCOUTING TAMIU: The Dustdevils lost both games last week, and enter the weekend 12-10, 5-9 LSC. TAMIU allows the fewest points per game in the LSC at 61.5 per game. Guard Jermaine Drewey is the lone Dustdevils averaging double figures at 10.2 points per game.

THE FIRST TIME: Texas A&M-Kingsville won the first matchup with the Lions, 71-56, while the Lions defeated International, 46-42.
