Lions to square off with Mustangs, Aggies this weekend

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball will look to climb back above .500 when the Lions visit Midwestern State and Cameron this week.

The Lions are slated to play at Midwestern State Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and at Cameron at 3 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafslions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS was defeated in a pair of home contests against St. Mary's and St. Edward's.

INSIDE OUT: Forward Jaxon Ingram and guard Payton Brown combined for 36 of 40 second half points in the game against St. Edward's.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Ingram recorded the first double-double of the season for the Lions, registering 16 points and 11 rebounds against St. Edward's.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU: Payton Brown scored 38 points against St. Edward's, his third 30-poing game this season and averaged 31.5 points in the two games last weekend.

CAREER HIGH: Guard Evan Anderson dished out a career-high nine assists against the Hilltoppers. Anderson ranks fifth in the LSC at 3.5 assists per game and third with a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.

AROUND THE LEAGUE: Brown leads the LSC in scoring at 20.2 points per game and is second in 3-point field goals per game at 2.6.

RECORD WATCH: Anderson is seventh with 126 career made threes. Anderson ranks third with 291 assists and 10th in steals with 69. Brown is ninth with 83 made triples.

THE SERIES: The Lions are 4-5 against Midwestern State and 3-3 all-time against Cameron.

SCOUTING MSU: The Mustangs are 8-9, 5-6 LSC after dropping both their games last week. Forward Jermane Carter leads three Mustangs in double figures with 11.9 points per game while also grabbing a team high 8.5 rebounds.

SCOUTING CU: The Aggies have lost 13 games in a row and are just 2-15, 0-11 LSC under first-year head coach Kevin O'Connor. Forward DeSean Munson leads the Aggies with 12.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Cameron allows the most points in the league at 80.1 points per game.
