FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Volleyball hosts its home opener Wednesday, facing Lone Star Conference foe Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
Festivities include a Numa Nation tailgate for students and staff prior to the match as well as a celebration for 50 years of Title IX.
UAFS will then host Western New Mexico at 6 p.m. Friday. Both matches will be broadcast on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network and Fox Sports Radio 103.5 FM with Bill Pharis and Greg Hale on the call. Live stats will be available at uafslions.com.

LAST WEEK: UAFS opened Lone Star Conference play with wins at Lubbock Christian and Eastern New Mexico.
LET'S PLAY 5: In both wins last week, the Lions rallied from 2-0 deficits to win in five sets.
BLOCK PARTY: The Lions recorded 10 blocks and 12 blocks, respectively, against Lubbock Christian and Eastern New Mexico last week, the two highest marks of the season. Right-side hitter Hannah Holland had seven blocks in each matchup while middle blocker Chyra Thompson had five blocks in the win against the Greyhounds.
HOME SWEET HOME: UAFS will play its first home matches of the season this week. The Lions are one of four LSC teams to yet to have played a home match.
HOME OPENER: The Lions are 12-1 in home openers since 2009, with the lone loss coming last season.
ACES WILD: UAFS is third in the LSC in aces with 1.75 aces per set and 91 total aces.

RECORD WATCH: Hannah Holland ranks second with 90 career aces, one shy of Morgan Banner's 91. Holland ranks seventh with 198 total blocks. Setter Chloe Price ranks ninth with 941 assists.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 5-0 against Oklahoma Christian in the two years since the Eagles have revived the program and 3-1 against Western New Mexico.
SCOUTING OC: The Eagles are 8-5, 1-1 LSC after splitting the opening weekend of conference action. Offensively, the Eagles rely on middle hitter Wendy Cobbah and outside hitter Sydney Collins while middles Morgan Demuth and Kelsie Schiefelbein each average more than a block per set.
SCOUTING WNMU: The Mustangs are last in the LSC at 2-13, 0-3 LSC and are on a four-match losing streak. Outside hitter Jazmyne Walker leads the attack with 3.54 kills per set with outside hitter Janey Cortez leading the defensive effort with 3.84 digs per set.
