FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball will host three basketball camps this June, with the first camp less than two weeks away.

Camp season starts with the Fundamentals Camp June 15-17 for girls entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Cost of the camp is $100. Kindergarten through third grade will attend from 9 a.m. to noon each day while fourth through sixth grade will attend from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This camp is for athletes ranging from beginner to experienced who are excited to have fun and improve their skills. It will include a positive and encouraging environment where UAFS players and coaching staff members will teach core fundamentals of the game.

A Varsity Co-Ed Skills Camp is slated for June 20-22 for girls and boys entering grades 10-12. The inside/post player portion is from 9 a.m. to noon while the guard/perimeter player portion is from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $100 per camp or $180 for both camps.

These camps for varsity level players will focus on developing higher level inside player and perimeter skills. The final day of camp – June 22 – will combine the inside and perimeter camps from 9 a.m. to noon to focus on game situations.

The third camp offered is the Pre-Varsity Co-Ed Skills Camp June 23-24 for girls and boys entering grades seventh through ninth. The camp is split into inside/post players and guard/perimeter players. Inside/post players is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon each day while guard/perimeter players are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Cost to attend one of the camps is $100 while it is $180 to attend both camps.

The inside player camp is will focus on developing basic level inside player skills while the perimeter camp will focus on developing basic level perimeter skills which will eventually translate to varsity level play.

All campers will receive a camp t-shirt. Both varsity and pre-varsity camps will be run similar to the UAFS camp workouts with involvement and demonstration by current UAFS players.
