FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Baseball will welcome a second ranked opponent to Crowder Field this weekend as the Lions will host No. 3 West Texas A&M in a four-game series.
With inclement weather in the forecast for Friday, the series has been pushed back to a single game Saturday, a doubleheader Sunday and a single game Monday. Tentative start times are 1 p.m. each day.
All four games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will also be available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS dropped three out of four games at St. Edward's last weekend. The Lions won the second game to even the series but the Hilltoppers took the final two games.
POWER SURGE: Outfielder Hunter Church hit two more home runs last week, bringing his season total to five. The five home runs are tied for second in the league.
HOME SWEET HOME: UAFS will play its first home game since February 13 when they host West Texas A&M, playing just its second home series of the year. The Lions are looking for their first home win of the year, as well, after being swept by Angelo State last month.
LEADING AFTER 6: The Lions are 5-0 when leading after the sixth inning but just 1-10 when trailing after six.
AT THE PLATE: in addition to his five homers, Church also leads the Lions with a .357 batting average and is tied with third baseman Brooks Sunny with a team-high 15 RBIs. Outfielder Kinner Brasher is hitting .353.
ON THE MOUND: Reliever Jakob Petross leads UAFS with a 4.50 ERA and earned his first win of the season last week at St. Edward's. For the weekend, he threw 5.2 innings and allowed just one run with three strikeouts.
THE SERIES: The Buffs lead the series over the Lions, 6-4, after winning the previous four games, including three last season.
SCOUTING WT: West Texas A&M started the year 14-0 before splitting last weekend against UT Tyler. They lead the league with a .353 batting average and 201 runs and are second in ERA at 4.53. Infielder Adam Becker leads the Buffs with a .465 average and a league-high 37 RBIs. Nick Marshall is 4-0 on the mound in five starts with a 2.63 ERA and 30 strikeouts.
