GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Carlos Hernandez continues to break his own school-record in the 8k as he bested his previous mark by six seconds Saturday at the DBU Old Glory Gallop.
Hernandez finished 23rd in 25:39.7 to once again lead the Lions' lineup.
Lawson Douglas and Jordan Foster paced each other throughout the race with Douglas placing 48th in 26:42.0 and Foster in 54th in 26:47.5.
Cade Weatherton, Oskar Minick and Joaquin Alva were the next group of Lions to cross the line in 70th, 73rd and 76th. Weatherton ran a 27:27.8, Minick a 27:37.3 and Alva a 27:42.2.
Eko Tuel rounded out the scoring for UAFS by finishing 90th in 28:10.2. Tuel was one of six Lions to run a personal best in the event.
UAFS finished 10th with 252 points and continued to get faster with a team average of just under 27 minutes.
The Lions run their last event of the regular season October 22 at the UAH Chargers Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama.
