Lions Set To Host Greyhounds In Conference Homestand

UAFS baseball is back at home this weekend as they look to host another four-game series against Eastern New Mexico. They are hoping to continue their winning season after winning their series last weekend against UT-Permian Basin, 3-1. The series will start on Friday at 3 pm, then continue with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 pm and 3 pm and will finally conclude with one game on Sunday at 1pm. All of the games will be held at Crowder Field.

The Lions are currently 9-5 overall and in conference play. They are looking to increase their winning record after this weekend. Historically, this is the first time that UAFS will play Eastern New Mexico. The Greyhounds are currently 2-12 overall and in conference play. Lions will be looking to start off their history with the Greyhounds with a series win.

Eastern New Mexico lost its last four-game series against Tarleton State, losing 1-3 after splitting the first two games against the Texans and then going on to lose the next two games to close out the series.

Currently the Lions have been averaging .247 for the team batting average. Morgan Crenshaw (.375), Max Frazier (.333), and Daniel Demondesert (.333) lead the team in this category. On the other hand, the Lions has several heavy hitters. Caleb Grace (.556) and Morgan Crenshaw (.475) have the highest slugging percentages on the team. Tristan Kalina leads the team in runs scored (15) and number of hits (16). Morgan Crenshaw leads the team in total bases run (19).

The UAFS pitching staff has an average ERA of 4.92 with 119 innings, 138 hits, 110 strikeouts, and 42 walks. Cameron Highfill currently holds the lowest ERA on the team with a 2.61. Janson Graves has the least number of hits allowed (3) and Noah McClanahan has the least number of runs allowed (2). Cameron Highfill, Foster Pace, Nico Sharp, and Trevor Johnson all have the most appearances with 5.

Fielding wise, the Lions have documented 357 putouts with 114 assists. Dylan Hurt leads the team with 111 putouts and Nolan Riley follows him with 94 putouts. Brooks Sunny has the most assists with 24 and Logan Easley is close behind with 20 assists.
This weekend will mark the second series in a row that the Lions are at home and they are looking to do a repeat of the outcome of last weekend's series.
