FORT SMITH, Ark. – Outfielder CJ Snowden homered and scored twice but University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball dropped a 17-3 decision to No. 9 Rogers State at Crowder Field on Tuesday.
Snowden singled and stole second in the second inning and scored on a wild pitch to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. However, the Hillcats scored twice in the top of the third as the Lions were unable to keep up. Rogers State scored in each inning from the third through the eighth.
Snowden the led off the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run to pull the Lions within 5-2 but the Hillcats answered with four in the top of the sixth.
UAFS scored its final tally in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI groundout by pinch hitter Eli Gilreath.
The Lions used 12 pitchers in the loss.
UAFS will now head to Washburn, where the series has been moved up to a Thursday start date due to weather.
