FORT SMITH, Ark. – Missouri Southern scored 10 runs in the first inning as the visitors defeated University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball, 18-3, Friday at Crowder Field in seven innings.
UAFS got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when infielder Caleb Eisenhower reached on an error, allowing two runs to score. The Lions tallied their final run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by pinch hitter Spencer Bass.
Infielders Quinton Borders and Landon Helm collected the only two hits for the Lions. Garrett Carroll pitched a scoreless seventh inning for UAFS.
The teams are back at it for game two at 1 p.m. Saturday.
