Men's Basketball looks to bounce back on final road trip

FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball will look to bounce back this week as the Lions visit Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State.

The Lions and Griffons will square off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday before the Lions and Bearcats do battle at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: The Lions suffered a pair of road defeats at Washburn and Central Missouri.

OFF THE BENCH: UAFS ranks seventh nationally with 36.9 bench points per game.

BEYOND THE ARC: The Lions ranks second in the MIAA in both three-point percentage (36.3) and opponent three-point percentage (29.3).

HELPING HAND: Guard Christian Moore is third in the MIAA with a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.

SCOUTING MW: The Griffons are 17-9, 9-6 MIAA with a 9-3 mark at home. Missouri Western is second in the MIAA in turnover margin at 2.85. Guard Noah King leads the Griffons with 15.8 points per game.

SCOUTING NW: The Bearcats are 12-14, 5-10 MIAA and are third in the league in opponent three-point field goal percentage at 29.3 percent. Three players average double figures, led by guard Royce Williams at 13.8 points per game.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 2-0 all-time against Missouri Western and 0-1 versus Northwest Missouri. This will be the first trip to both schools for the Lions.
