FORT SMITH, Ark. – No. 25 University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball will head to Washburn this week as the Lions gear up for a top-25 showdown with the Ichabods.
The Lions will visit No. 3 Washburn at 7:30 p.m. Thursday before travelling to face off against Central Missouri at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the MIAA Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
Saturday's game at UCM will also be the MIAA Game of the Week on 38 The Spot in Kansas City.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS went 2-0 at home as the Lions defeated both Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State.
TOP 25: The Lions remained at No. 25 in this week's NABC/Division II Top 25 poll.
OFF THE BENCH: UAFS is fourth nationally in bench points at 38.8 per game.
CRASH THE GLASS: The Lions lead the MIAA with 40.0 rebounds per game. Forward Kameron Johnson ranks ninth in the league with 6.3 per game.
HELPING HAND: Guard Christian Moore ranks fourth in the MIAA in both assists per game and assist/turnover ratio.
SCOUTING WU: The No. 3 Ichabods are 22-1, 12-1 MIAA and lead the league in scoring offense at 88.0 points per game. Forward Dillon Claussen leads Washburn with 16.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting a league-best 62.4 percent.
SCOUTING UCM: The Mules are 18-7, 9-4 MIAA after handing Washburn its first loss last week. UCM leads the league in three-point percentage at 39.7 and is led offensively by guard Lazarek Houston, who tops the league with 21.4 points per game and is second with 5.3 assists per game.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 1-1 all-time against Washburn and 1-3 versus Central Missouri. This will be the first time the Lions visit Washburn.
